A Case of congenital Ginant Hydronephrosis

Abstract
|
|
|
Hydronephrosis characterized by dilatation of the renal pelvis and calyces, and atrophy of renal -parenchyma secondary to stenosis or obstruction of urinary outflow tract.
Yang has defined that giant hydronephrosis contained much amount of fluid such as 400500 cc in the infant and 500^700 cc from 1 to 5 years of age. There are few literatures about giant hydroneph -rosis even through adult case in Korea.
We have found recently a congenital giant hydronephrosis of left kindney which deveroped in 1 year and 11 months old Korean boy_ It was removed surgically and the amount of fluid was 550 c. It is the first reported case of congenital giant hydronephrosis of childhood in Korea.
